# Updating VM Backup Jobs

To update a VM backup job, perform the following steps:

1. Click **All** > **Veeam** > **Virtual Machines** > **Jobs**.
2. Click the name of the job.
3. Change the following settings if required:

    - Name
    - Description
    - Virtual machines
    - User groups

4. Select or remove a template if required.
5. Click **Update**.

::: note

Consider the following:

- Jobs collected from Veeam Backup & Replication servers do not have job templates by default. If you select a template for them, job settings will be inherited from this template and updated automatically.
- If you edit the job template, changes you make will affect all jobs using this template.
