Specify settings for the Veeam backup repository that contains the necessary backup file: 1. In the **Veeam backup server name or IP address** field, specify a DNS name or IP address of the Veeam backup server. 2. In the **Port** field, specify the number of the port over which Veeam Agent must communicate with the backup repository. By default, Veeam Agent for Mac uses port 10006. 3. Select the type of **Authentication** to access the Veeam backup server: - **Login and password**. With this option selected, specify the following settings: 1. In the **Login** field, type in the name of the account that has access to the Veeam backup repository. 2. Optionally, in the **Domain** field, type in the name of the domain in which the account that has access to the Veeam backup repository is registered. ::: important To authenticate against a Linux-based Veeam backup server, you cannot use domain accounts. We recommend using a local user account with the *Service Account* role. To learn more about available local user roles, see the [Configuring Users](https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/hmc_configure_users.html?ver=13) section in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide. ::: 3. In the **Password** field, type in the password of the account that has access to the Veeam backup repository. ::: note If you want to perform restore from a backup created by Veeam Agent operating in the managed mode, you must use an account that has the *Veeam Backup Administrator* or *Veeam Restore Operator* role on the Veeam backup server. For more information about user roles, see the [Users and Roles](https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/users_roles.html?ver=120) section in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide. ::: [![](images/backup_import_vbr_creds.png)](images/backup_import_vbr_creds.png){.toggle scale=80} - **Recovery token**: With this option selected, in the **Token** field, enter the value of the recovery token generated in the Veeam Backup & Replication console. For more information on generating recovery tokens, see [Creating Recovery Token](https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/agent_backup_recovery_token.html?ver=120) in the Veeam Agent Management guide. [![](images/backup_import_vbr_token.png)](images/backup_import_vbr_token.png){.toggle scale=80} 4. Press **Next**. Veeam Agent will connect to the Veeam backup server. If prompted, verify and accept the self-signed certificate of the Veeam backup server to continue.
