Data Protection

To protect your environment, you must create backup policies. A backup policy is a collection of settings that define the way backup operations are performed: what data to back up, where backups must be stored, when the backup process must start and so on.

AWS Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication allows you to create the following types of backup policies:

  • EC2 backup policy to protect EC2 instances
  • RDS backup policy to protect RDS instances

Backups of Amazon VPC configurations are created automatically by Veeam Backup for AWS. This policy is disabled by default.

Additional Data Protection Options

Using the Veeam Backup & Replication console, you can also add an additional layer of protection for your infrastructure by creating backup copy jobs and backup to tape jobs for EC2 instances. The backup copy job functionality allows you to create and keep multiple instances of the same backed-up data in different locations. Backup to tape jobs allow you to keep backups of EC2 instances on tape devices.

I want to report a typo

There is a misspelling right here:

I want to let the Veeam Documentation Team know about that.
