Creating Backup Policies

In this article

To back up Azure VMs using the Veeam Backup & Replication console, you must create backup policies. A backup policy is a collection of settings that define the way backup operations are performed: what data to back up, where backups must be stored, when the backup process must start and so on.

To create backup policies, Veeam Backup & Replication uses the capabilities of Microsoft Azure Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication that allow you to access Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure and add a backup policy directly to the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure appliance.

    To create a backup policy:

    1. Launch the Add Policy wizard using one of the following instructions:
    • On the Home tab, navigate to Backup Job > Microsoft Azure.
    • Open the Home view. In the inventory pane, right-click the Jobs node and select Backup >  Microsoft Azure.

If you have several Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure appliances added to the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure, select the necessary appliance under the Microsoft Azure node.

    1. Follow the instructions provided in the Creating Backup Policies section in the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure User Guide.

I want to report a typo

There is a misspelling right here:

I want to let the Veeam Documentation Team know about that.
