# Removing Organizations

Veeam Backup for Salesforce allows you to permanently remove a Salesforce organization from the configuration database if you no longer need it.

To remove an organization, do the following:

1. Switch to the **Configuration** page.
2. Navigate to **Salesforce** > **Salesforce** **Orgs**.
3. Select the necessary organization and click **Delete**.
4. In the **Delete** **Salesforce** **Connection** window, select the **Delete history for all restore jobs and archival policies** check box and click **Delete**.

- You cannot remove a Salesforce organization that is currently protected by a backup policy. [Delete the backup policy](removing_backup_policies.md) — and then try removing the organization again.
- You cannot remove a Salesforce organization that is used as an identity provider. [Disable SSO authentication for this organization](configuring_user_sso.md) — and then try removing the organization again.

When you remove an organization, the backed-up data (data, metadata and files) is not deleted automatically. Veeam Backup for Salesforce continues storing the data for the security reasons. You can further use this data to restore objects and fields if you add the organization back to the management server. If you do not need the backed-up data, you can manually delete a database used to store the data of this organization from the server where the database is hosted and delete files and attachments from the location specified in the [backup policy](add_backup_policy_files.md) protecting the organization.
