Standby Mode powers off a vSphere host and allows it to be powered back on again through Wake-on-LAN protocol triggered either manually or automatically by VirtualCenter. ## Causes There may be some issue with Wake-on-LAN (or the specific technology applicable to the hardware of this host). Check the host network and hardware status. ## Resolutions Power the host on using a different method and then disable VMware DPM on that host until you the issue is resolved. See the [vSphere Resource Management Guide](https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.resmgmt.doc/GUID-98BD5A8A-260A-494F-BAAE-74781F5C4B87.html) for more information. ## External Refer to the [VMware Online Documentation](https://techdocs.broadcom.com/) for more information on vCenter event messages and possible solutions.
