# Veeam VMware: vSphere Distributed Switch MTU matched status Alarm

This monitor tracks the vCenter Alarm 'vSphere Distributed Switch MTU matched status'.

By default, the alarm is triggered by the following events:

- **vim.event.MtuMatchEvent**: MTU value configured in the vSphere Distributed Switch matches physical switch.
- **vim.event.MtuMismatchEvent**: MTU value configured in the vSphere Distributed Switch does not match physical switch.

Check whether the MTU value configured in the Distributed Virtual Switch properties matches MTU of the physical port connected to the switch. For more information on editing advanced vSphere Distributed Switch settings, see [VMware Docs](https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.networking.doc/GUID-E0FED4AB-823D-4B61-B668-9400746D52E5.html). For vSphere best practices on MTU configuration, see the [official VMware vSphere Blog](http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2011/11/vds-best-practices-virtual-and-physical-switch-parameters.html).
