# Step 1. Deploy OpsMgr Agents

If you deploy the Veeam VMware Collector component on an OpsMgr Management Server, then no agent is required, as Management Servers already include the agent functionality.

It is recommended that you deploy a fully-managed OpsMgr agent to your vCenter Server. Even though Collectors gather data from the vCenter Server agentlessly, the agent can be used to leverage additional monitoring data (for example, to obtain core services status and application log data concerning the vCenter Server).
