Note that it will not be displayed in the alert text. 3. From the **Monitor target** list, choose *VMware vSphere Host* as a target for the monitor. ::: note You can create custom vCenter Alarm Monitors only for 6 types of targets: *VMware vCenter*, *VMware vSphere Host*, *VMware Datacenter*, *VMware Cluster,* *VMware Datastore* and *VMware Virtual Machine*. For other types of targets, the monitors will not work. ::: 4. From the **Parent monitor** list, select *Availability*. 5. If you want to configure overrides for the monitor, you can clear the **Monitor is enabled** check box and select it later. Otherwise, make sure the check box is selected.
