Cluster, Host, Storage and VM Views

The Cluster, Host, Storage and VM views display categorization details for different types of virtual infrastructure objects.

The views act as detailed monitoring panels: they present virtual infrastructure inventory from the perspective of business view categories. Categorization data is presented both in graphic charts and tables. Each section provides information on a specific category, shows how many objects belong to groups in this category, and provides information on the total of their vCPU, memory and storage resources.

At the top of the view, there is information on the number of uncategorized objects, objects awaiting categorization approval and objects excluded from categorization.

Cluster, Host, Storage and VM Views

Cluster, Host, Storage and VM Views Tip:

By default, each section displays 3 groups for each category sorted by the number of objects in groups, plus an additional Other group that displays summary information for objects from all other groups. If necessary, you can change the number of groups to display and the way the groups are sorted. For details, see Configuring Options.

Viewing Categorization Details

To view categorization details for virtual infrastructure objects and check the categorization status:

  1. Open Veeam ONE Business View.
  2. Open the Cluster, Host, Storage or VM view.
  3. Click Details at the top.

Veeam ONE Business View will display a list of objects with their categorization details.

  1. You can use the Request Status list at the top to sort objects by their categorization status:
  • Uncategorized — objects that are not categorized yet.
  • Require Approval — objects that await categorization approval. These objects fall under categorization rules, but you need to additionally confirm categorization of these objects to include them in corresponding static groups. For details, see Approving Categorization Results.
  • Approved — objects that fall under categorization rules and their categorization is already approved.
  • Auto-Approved — objects that were automatically categorized with categorization rules.
  • Excluded from categorization — objects that were excluded from categorization.

By default, Veeam ONE Business View displays objects that may need your attention in terms of categorization. These are objects with the Uncategorized and Require Approval statuses.
