# Click vs. Click on vs. Click at

**Click** is about pressing a mouse button to select a link or item on the screen. Use **Click** as a transitive verb that acts as an action verb and has a direct object — this means that no preposition is required after the verb.

- DO NOT use **Click on** and **Click at**. 
- **Click in** is acceptable but in other contexts. For example, *click anywhere in the window*.

### Examples

1. In the **Parameter Details** column, [click]{.mdhl-correct} the **Edit** button next to the **Default Value** field.
2. To save changes made to the parameter settings, [click]{.mdhl-correct} **Save**.
