# Plurals

When talking about an item that could be either singular or plural, we use plural in Veeam technical documentation. This approach allows us not only to keep consistency in all further references to these items but also to avoid [confusion about articles](https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/93940/number-agreement-when-using-s-for-optional-plural).

### Examples

1. At the **Virtual Machines** step of the wizard, select [VM(s)]{.mdhl-incorrect} and VM [container(s)]{.mdhl-incorrect} that you want to back up.
