Deployment

To start working with Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV, you must deploy a Veeam Backup & Replication server, install Veeam AHV Plug-in and configure the backup infrastructure for an AHV cluster that you want to protect.

To deploy Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV and set up the backup infrastructure, perform the following steps:

  1. Configure Veeam Backup & Replication server

Install Veeam Backup & Replication and configure the backup repository that will be used as a target for VM backups.

  1. Install Nutanix AHV Plug-in

On the Veeam Backup & Replication server, install Nutanix AHV Plug-in that allows to add AHV clusters and AHV backup proxies.

  1. In the Veeam Backup & Replication console, perform initial configuration for the cluster that you want to protect:
  1. Add Nutanix AHV cluster

In the Veeam Backup & Replication console, add Nutanix AHV cluster to the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure.

  1. Deploy AHV Backup Proxy

In the Veeam Backup & Replication console, launch the deploy of AHV Backup Proxy on an AHV cluster where VMs that you plan to back up reside.
