Upgrading from Version 2.0 to 2.1

In this article

AHV Backup Proxy 2.1 supports integration with Veeam Backup & Replication 10 and 11. The best way to upgrade AHV Backup Proxy is to upgrade it along with Veeam Backup & Replication 11; but you can also upgrade only AHV Backup Proxy and use it with Veeam Backup & Replication 10. For instructions, see:

    Note

Before you upgrade AHV Backup Proxy, make sure all required ports are open. For details, see Used Ports.

Upgrading to AHV Backup Proxy 2.1 and Veeam Backup & Replication 11

If you are using Veeam Backup & Replication 10 and you want to upgrade AHV Backup Proxy from version 2.0 to version 2.1, you can do it by upgrading Veeam Backup & Replication from version 10 to version 11. In this case, AHV Backup Proxy will be automatically upgraded to version 2.1.

To upgrade AHV Backup Proxy from version 2.0 to version 2.1, do the following:

    1. Check the prerequisites and upgrade Veeam Backup & Replication from version 10 to version 11. For instructions on how to do it, see Upgrading to Veeam Backup & Replication 11.
    2. During the process of upgrading to Veeam Backup & Replication 11, the wizard will automatically upgrade Veeam AHV Plug-in to version 2.1.
    1. Open the Veeam Backup & Replication console. The upgrade wizard will appear and prompt you to upgrade the product components. Follow the wizard to complete the upgrade process for AHV backup infrastructure components.

Upgrading to AHV Backup Proxy 2.1 Without Upgrading Veeam Backup & Replication 10

If you want to upgrade AHV Backup Proxy to version 2.1 but do not want to upgrade Veeam Backup & Replication to version 11, you can do the following:

    1. Make sure the latest run for all existing jobs has completed successfully. Rerun the failed jobs.
    2. Make sure there are no running jobs, restore sessions, Instant VM Recovery sessions and SureBackup jobs. We recommend that you do not stop running jobs and let them complete successfully. Disable any periodic and backup copy jobs temporarily to prevent them from starting during the upgrade.
    3. Update AHV Backup Proxy in the Veeam Updater console. For details, see Installing Updates.
I want to report a typo

There is a misspelling right here:

I want to let the Veeam Documentation Team know about that.
