Installing Veeam Availability Orchestrator

During VAO installation, VAO Server components will be installed all together on a single machine. For more information on the components, see Architecture Overview.

Installing Veeam Availability Orchestrator Important!

When installing Veeam Availability Orchestrator, mind the following limitations:

  • Installation of VAO on a machine already running Veeam products is not supported.
  • Installation of VAO on a machine with the Domain Controller role is not supported.

To install VAO, perform the following steps.

  1. Start the setup wizard.
  2. Accept the license agreement.
  3. Choose components to install.
  4. Provide a license file.
  5. Perform system configuration check.
  6. Specify service account credentials.
  7. Choose a SQL server.
  8. Create SQL server databases.
  9. Specify service ports.
  10. Select a certificate for VAO UI.
  11. Specify data locations.
  12. Review installation summary.
  13. Install Update 3 for Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5.
  14. [Optional] Install Veeam ONE Monitor Client on a separate machine.

Before You Begin

Before you begin installation, check the following prerequisites:

  1. Make sure the machine where VAO will be installed meets the prerequisite conditions described in section System Requirements.
  2. Download VAO product installation VAO_1.0.iso file from the Veeam downloads page. You can burn the downloaded .iso image file to a CD/DVD or mount the installation image to the target machine using disk image emulation software.
