Finalizing Failover

This action provides you a number of options to finalize failover to VM replicas:

  • Permanent Failover — as a result, VM replicas in the DR site will no longer be treated as replicas. Restore point snapshots will be removed, and the source VMs will be removed from replication jobs.

For more information on the permanent failover process, see the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide.

  • Failback to Production — in this case, you will switch from VM replicas back to original VMs. Any changes which occurred to replica VMs while running in the DR site will be replicated back to the Production site.

For more information on the replica failback process, see the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide.

  • [This option applies only if you choose the Failback to Production option]

Commit Failback — this option will finalize failback from VM replicas to original VMs.

For more information on the commit failback operation, see the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide.

Depending on the selected option, the plan may enter the PERMANENT FAILOVER, FAILBACK, COMMIT FAILBACK or HALTED state. For more information on working with HALTED failover plans, see Managing Halted Plans.

I want to report a typo

There is a misspelling right here:

I want to let the Veeam Documentation Team know about that.
