Upgrading Appliances

Important

To upgrade Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure to version 5a, a Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure appliance must be running version 3.0 or later. Before you start the upgrade process, check the requirements and limitations described in section Upgrading to Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure 5a.

Microsoft Azure Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication allows you to check whether new Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure versions are available and to upgrade appliances managed by the backup server:

In the Veeam Backup & Replication console, open the Backup Infrastructure view.
Navigate to Managed Servers.
Select the necessary Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure appliance and click Upgrade appliance on the ribbon.

Alternatively, right-click the appliance and select Upgrade.

Note

You can upgrade Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure appliances only to the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure version that is compatible with the current version of Microsoft Azure Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication.
