## Detailed Description
This cmdlet returns Microsoft Exchange mailbox databases.

## Output Object
The cmdlet returns the [`VEXDatabase`](vexdatabase.md)`[]` array that contains Microsoft Exchange mailbox databases.

This example shows how to get a list of Microsoft Exchange databases within the specified restore session.

Perform the following steps:

1. Run the [`Get-VBRExchangeItemRestoreSession`](get-vbrexchangeitemrestoresession.md) cmdlet. Save the result to the `$session` variable.

   The cmdlet will return an array of active restore sessions. Note the ordinal number of the necessary restore session. In this example, it is the second restore session in the array.

2. Run the `Get-VEXDatabase` cmdlet. Set the `$session` variable as the `Session` parameter value.

1. Run the [`Get-VBRExchangeItemRestoreSession`](get-vbrexchangeitemrestoresession.md) cmdlet to get an active restore session. Save the result to the `$session` variable.

   The cmdlet will return an array of active restore sessions. Note the ordinal number of the necessary restore session. In this example, it is the second restore session in the array.

2. Run the `Get-VEXDatabase` cmdlet. Set the `$session` variable as the `Session` parameter value. Specify the `Name` parameter value.

2. Run the `Get-VEXDatabase` cmdlet. Set the `$session` variable as the `Session` parameter value. Specify the `Name` parameter value. Use the * wildcard character to substitute the timestamp.
