Within the restore session, you can get backed-up data using the following cmdlets: - [`Get-VEADDomain`](get-veaddomain.md) - [`Get-VEADContainer`](get-veadcontainer.md) - [`Get-VEADItem`](get-veaditem.md) After you get backed-up Microsoft Active Directory data, you can recover these databases. - Run the [`Start-VEADItemRestore`](start-veaditemrestore.md) cmdlet to restore Microsoft Active Directory objects and containers. - Run the [`Start-VEADItemExport`](start-veaditemexport.md) cmdlet to export Microsoft Active Directory objects and containers. ## Parameters

For more information on common parameters, see the [About Common Parameters](http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=113216) section of Microsoft Docs. ## Output Object The cmdlet returns the [`VEADRestoreSessionJob`](veadrestoresessionjob.md) object that contains settings of the restore session started to explore backed-up Microsoft Active Directory data and to perform operations with this data. ## Examples ::: example ### Starting Restore Session This example shows how to start a restore session to explore and perform recovery operations with backed-up Microsoft Active Directory data. ``` $restorepoint = Get-VBRApplicationRestorePoint -ActiveDirectory Start-VEADRestoreSessionJob -RestorePoint $restorepoint[0] ``` Perform the following steps: 1. Run the [`Get-VBRApplicationRestorePoint`](https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/powershell/get-vbrapplicationrestorepoint.html?ver=13) cmdlet with the `ActiveDirectory` parameter. Save the result to the `$restorepoint` variable. The cmdlet will return an array of restore points. Note the ordinal number of the necessary restore point. In this example, it is the first restore point in the array. 2. Run the `Start-VEADRestoreSessionJob` cmdlet.
