Step 7. Add RHV Manager to Backup Infrastructure

    After you install Veeam Backup for RHV, add the Red Hat Virtualization Manager VM to the Veeam Backup for RHV backup infrastructure. Veeam Backup for RHV protects VMs in all clusters and hosts that are under control of this Virtualization Manager.

    To connect your Veeam Backup for RHV to Virtualization Manager, do the following:

    1. Log in to the Veeam Backup for RHV web console.
    2. At the main panel of the web console, click Step 7. Add RHV Manager to Backup Infrastructure and select Manage Virtualization Manager.

    Step 7. Add RHV Manager to Backup Infrastructure 

    1. Click Add on the toolbar.
    2. In the Add Virtualization Manager window, specify the RHV Manager settings:
    1. In the DNS name or IP address field, specify the IP address or FQDN of the RHV Manager.

    Important

    Make sure Veeam Backup for RHV is able to connect to the RHV Manager host by FQDN. The FQDN of the RHV Manager must be resolved into its IP address.

    1. Leave the Port field empty. Currently it is deprecated.
    2. [Optional] In the Description field, specify the RHV Manager description for further reference.
    3. In the Username and Password fields, specify credentials to connect to the RHV Manager. The account that you want to use to connect to the RHV Manager must have an administrator role permissions.
    4. Click OK to apply changes.

    Step 7. Add RHV Manager to Backup Infrastructure 

    1. Veeam Backup for RHV checks the authenticity of the TLS certificate on the RHV Manager. If you trust the legitimacy of the certificate, click Accept the Risk and Continue to connect to the RHV Manager.

    You can add only one RHV Manager VM to the Veeam Backup for RHV backup infrastructure.
