# Specifying Weekly Schedule

To create a weekly schedule for the backup policy, at the **Schedule** step of the wizard, specify the following:

1. Turn on the **Weekly Retention** toggle to open the **Weekly schedule** window.
2. In the **Snapshots** field, select days when the backup policy will create VM snapshots.
3. In the **Backups** field, select days when the backup policy will create VM backups.

   ::: tip

   Use the **Select All**, **Clear All** and **Undo** buttons to make selection easier.

4. From the **Create restore point at** drop-down list, select time when the backup policy will create restore points.
5. In the **Snapshot Settings** section, specify the number of snapshots that you want to keep. If this limit is exceeded, Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Azure will remove the earliest snapshot from the chain. 
6. In the **Backup Settings** section, specify the retention period to keep VM backups in days or months.

Your monthly invoice amount may vary depending on the backup frequency and retention settings. To avoid additional costs, adjust the backup policy settings to keep fewer restore points in the snapshot chain.
