Installing Veeam Migration for Microsoft 365 Tool

To migrate your Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 data to Veeam Data Cloud, you must install the Veeam Migration for Microsoft 365 tool on the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 server.

Before you install the migration tool, make sure that the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 server meets the system requirements. For more information, see the System Requirements section in the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 User Guide.

To install the migration tool:

1. Download the setup archive for the Veeam Migration for Microsoft 365 tool from this Veeam webpage and save it on the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 server used to create the backup data you want to migrate to Veeam Data Cloud.
2. Double-click the downloaded setup archive. In the open archive, double-click the setup file to launch the setup wizard.
3. At the Choose Install Location step of the setup wizard, check and change if necessary the path to the folder where the migration tool will be installed, and click Install.

The default installation path is %ProgramFiles%\Veeam Migration for Microsost 365.

4. Once the installation process is completed, at the next step of the wizard, select the Run Veeam Migration for Microsoft 365 check box if you want to start migration immediately and click Finish to exit the setup wizard.
