You can download files and folders from Azure VMs to on-premises. There are two options for downloading files and folders:
▪You can download files and folders manually.
Use this option to quickly download one folder, one file, or several files that reside in the same folder.
▪You can create jobs to download files and folders automatically.
Use this option to download several files and folders, schedule download, or run PowerShell scripts before and/or after download.
When you download files and folders to on-premises, original ownership and ACL information is not retained. Downloaded files and folders inherit their permissions from the parent folder. To learn how permissions are handled when you copy files and folders in Microsoft Windows, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/310316.
Before you download files and folders, check the following prerequisites:
▪An Azure VM from which you want to download files and folders must be connected to Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure and running. For details on configuring connections to Azure VMs, see Connecting Azure VMs.
▪To download files and folders to a network location (such as a network share or a mapped drive), you must grant network access permissions to the LocalSystem account on the machine where Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure runs.
