In Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure, you can open files from the Azure VM guest file system. When you choose to open a file from a remote VM, the file is first downloaded to the Microsoft Windows TEMP folder on the machine where Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure is installed, and then opened with an associated application.
You cannot open in Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure files larger than 10 MB. If a file is too large to be opened, you can download it from an Azure VM and open it in a regular way.
Before you open a file, make sure that the Azure VM is connected to Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure and running. For details on configuring connections to Azure VMs, see Connecting Azure VMs.
To open a file:
1.Open the Virtual Machines view.
2.In the Machines list on the left, choose the necessary Azure VM and expand its folder tree.
3.In the list of files on the right, select a file you want to open and do one of the following:
▪Click Open File on the ribbon.
▪Right-click the file and choose Open File.
Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure will attempt to find an application associated with the file type and open it. If no associated application is found, you can choose an application on the local machine to open the file.
