Configuring Event Log Alerts

In this article

Veeam backup events that are written to the event log on managed backup servers can serve as a basis for Kaseya alerts. When an event that matches specific event set conditions is written to the event log, the Kaseya agent captures it and generates an alert. You can instruct Kaseya to take one of the following actions in response to the alert:

    • Create an alarm in the Veeam Active Alarms view
    • Create a ticket
    • Run  a script
    • Send an email

The Veeam Backup Add-on includes two event sets  for the Kaseya management platform:

    • Veeam Backup & Replication Alerts — this event set includes conditions for warning and error events written to the Veeam Backup event log.
    • Veeam Backup & Replication — this event set includes conditions for warning, error and informative events written to the Veeam Backup event log.

You can configure alerts for Veeam Backup & Replication events and associate the necessary response actions with these alerts.

To configure alerting for Veeam Backup & Replication events, perform the following steps:

    1. Instruct Kaseya to use the Veeam Backup event log on managed backup servers as a data source.

For details, see Step 1. Configure Event Log Settings.

    1. Define the time interval for which you want to keep event log data.

For details, see Step 2. Specify Event Log History Settings.

    1. Configure alert settings and response actions.

For details, see Step 3. Configure Alerts for Veeam Backup & Replication Events.
