Step 1. Configure Event Log Settings

In this article

You must instruct Kaseya to use the Veeam Backup event log on each managed backup server as a data source.

Right after you install a Kaseya agent on a managed Veeam backup server, the agent is not aware of all event logs that exist on this machine. You need to run a scan operation that will update the list of counters, services and event log types on the managed backup server and let the agent know that the Veeam Backup event log can be used for monitoring.

    1. In the Kaseya console, go to Monitor > Edit > Update Lists by Scan.
    2. Select check boxes next to the necessary backup servers.
    3. Click Run Now.

    Updating Event Log List

The scan operation takes about 10 minutes. When the scan process completes, go to Agent > Machine Status > Event Log Settings and check if the Event Log Type list has been updated. When the Veeam Backup type appears in the list, you can proceed with event log assignment.

Next, assign an event log to a monitored machine:

    1. In the Kaseya console, go to Agent > Machine Status > Event Log Settings.
    2. Select check boxes next to the necessary backup servers.
    3. In the Event Log Type list, select Veeam Backup from the list and click Add on the right to add the event log to the Assigned Event Logs list.
    4. Select check boxes next to event types you want to monitor: Error, Warning, Information.
    5. Click Update or Replace to apply settings to the selected machines.
