To enable Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech functionality, you must install a license.

Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech license is required for each managed computer. A managed computer is a machine running Veeam Endpoint Backup that is administered from the LabTech Control Center (or otherwise, Veeam Endpoint Backup that has been activated). For details, see Activating Veeam Endpoint Backup.

The license distinguishes two types of managed computers — desktops and servers.

Managed desktops run desktop versions of supported OSes.

Managed servers run server versions of supported OSes.

One license can cover any number of managed desktops and/or servers.

License Expiration

Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech license period is set in accordance with the chosen rental program.

To ensure a smooth license update procedure, Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech offers a 2-month grace period after the license expires. Upon license expiration, Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech will show on all plug-in dashboards and tabs a warning that you need to submit a license usage report and update the license. If you do not update the license within the grace period, Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech views, dashboards, reports and scripts (except for Switch Veeam Endpoint Backup to free mode and Uninstall Veeam Endpoint Backup) will become unavailable.

Exceeding License Limit

In some situations, the number of desktops and servers that are actually managed from the LabTech Control Center may exceed the license limit. The Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech allows you to manage up to 20% more desktops and 20% more servers than specified in the license.

If the license limit is exceeded for 20% or less, Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech dashboards and tags will display a warning that the limit has been exceeded, and you need to reflect the increase in the next license usage report.

If the license limit is exceeded for more than 20%, Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech dashboards and tabs will display a warning that the limit has been exceeded. In this case, you will not be able to activate Veeam Endpoint Backup on additional desktops or servers.
