When Veeam Endpoint Backup is activated and managed from the LabTech Control Panel, it does not automatically perform updates and upgrade. The task to check for and install product updates, or perform upgrade is performed by the LabTech administrator.

Checking for Updates

Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech periodically checks availability of a new Veeam Endpoint Backup version. Every 24 hours by default, the plug-in runs the Check Veeam Endpoint Backup version script against computers in the Veeam Endpoint Backup group. The script instructs Veeam Endpoint Backup to query whether a new product version is available, and if so, collects details about the new version.

You can view information about the latest available Veeam Endpoint Backup version in the Endpoints Versions dataview. The dataview shows what product version is currently installed on managed endpoints, and what version is available for download. If a new Veeam Endpoint Backup version is available, you can update the product on one endpoint, or on a group of endpoints at a time.

Updating Veeam Endpoint Backup via Internet

If managed endpoints are connected to Internet, the easiest way to upgrade Veeam Endpoint Backup is updating the software via Internet. To perform update, you must run the Update Veeam Endpoint Backup via internet script. During its execution, the script instructs Veeam Endpoint Backup to download the setup file from the Veeam Update Server and initiate the update procedure.

Before you trigger the update process, make sure that Veeam Endpoint Backup has been activated. For details, see Activating Veeam Endpoint Backup.

To update Veeam Endpoint Backup via Internet on one or more remote endpoints:

1.In the LabTech Control Center, right-click a client, location, group or computer.

2.Choose the script that will update Veeam Endpoint Backup:

[For LabTech 11]  From the shortcut menu, select Scripts > Veeam Endpoint Backup > Update Veeam Endpoint Backup via internet.

Updating Veeam Endpoint Backup via Local Folder

If managed endpoints are not connected to Internet or you want to reduce the amount of web traffic, you can update Veeam Endpoint Backup via local folder. To perform update, you must run the Update Veeam Endpoint Backup via local folder script. During its execution, the script accesses the Veeam Endpoint Backup setup file located in the C:\VEB folder on the target endpoint, and triggers the product update procedure.

Before you trigger the update process:

Make sure that Veeam Endpoint Backup has been activated. For details, see see Activating Veeam Endpoint Backup.

Download a new version of Veeam Endpoint Backup setup file from the www.veeam.com website and place it to the C:\VEB folder on the target endpoint. The new product version must support upgrade from the version that is currently installed.

To update Veeam Endpoint Backup via local folder on one or more remote endpoints:

1.In the LabTech Control Center, right-click a client, location, group or computer.

2.Choose the script that will update Veeam Endpoint Backup:

[For LabTech 11]  From the shortcut menu, select Scripts > Veeam Endpoint Backup > Update Veeam Endpoint Backup via local folder.

[For LabTech 10.5] From the shortcut menu, select Scripts > Backup and Recovery > Veeam Endpoint Backup > Update Veeam Endpoint Backup via local folder.
