Table of contents

This report aggregates historical performance data for backup proxies across a time range and shows top or bottom proxies for a specific performance counter.

The report features a predefined list of proxy performance counters.

To run the Top (Bottom) Backup Proxies report, you need to have the Veeam Management Pack installed.

Date/time Selection: defines the time period to analyze in the report.

Algorithm: defines whether top or bottom backup proxies will be displayed in the report.

Count: defines the number of top or bottom backup proxies that will be included in the report. The value can range between 1 and 200.

Group by: defines how data will be grouped in the report (by Object, Counter Instance or Object and Counter Instance).

Scope: defines a list of Groups or Objects to analyze in the report (by default, the Veeam Backup Proxy Group is selected).
The Add Group option returns a Group and all objects that a group contains (with all performance counter instances). The Add Object option returns only the selected object.

Counter: defines a collection rule for a performance counter to analyze in the report.

Sample Usage

Report on top 5 proxies that had the highest CPU usage during this week.

1.Open the Top (Bottom) Backup Proxies report.
2.From the From list, choose This Week > Monday. From the To list, choose This Week > Friday.
3.From the Algorithm list, choose Top.
4.In the Count field, type 5.
5.From the Group by list, choose Object.
6.Leave the Scope section without changes.
7.From the Counter list, select Veeam Backup Proxy\CPU Used % (Veeam Backup Proxy CPU Used %).
8.Click Run to view the report.

Report Output

The report will show 5 proxies with the greatest CPU usage level. The chart will display the following details for every proxy: average CPU usage and the minimum-to-maximum CPU usage range for the selected period. The table will display additional details for every proxy: name, sample count, minimum, maximum and average CPU usage values and standard deviation.

If several objects have the same ranking function value, the report will include more objects than you have set in the Count field. For example, the “bottom 10” report will show 11 objects if two objects “share” the same position (have the same value).

You can click proxy names in the output table to drill down to the Veeam Performance Details Report.
