Defining Global vCenter Attributes

To be able to create custom groups, you should first define global vCenter Veeam.CustomTagN attributes on the vCenter Server side. You can define the Veeam.CustomTagN attributes for different infrastructure objects, such as VMs, hosts, clusters, datastores, datastore clusters, virtual switches, resource pools and vApps.

You can add Veeam.CustomTagN attributes in different ways:

You can create custom attributes manually, using vSphere Client. For more information, see the VMware Online Documentation.
Also custom attributes can be created automatically by other 3rd-party applications.

Veeam MP for VMware captures Veeam.CustomTagN attributes and maps them to reserved object properties in Ops Mgr. The following table provides a list of reserved object properties for different infrastructure objects:
