Removing from Configuration

In this article

You can use the Remove from configuration operation if you want to remove records about backups from the Veeam Backup & Replication console and database. All backup files (VBK, VIB, VRB, VBM) remain on the cloud repository and you can easily import these files later to the Veeam Backup & Replication console for restore operations.

    Removing from Configuration Note:

When you remove an encrypted backup, Veeam Backup & Replication removes encryption keys from the database, too. If you import such backup on the same Veeam backup server or another Veeam backup server, you will have to specify a password or unlock the backup with Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager.

To remove records about VM backups from the Veeam Backup & Replication console and database:

    1. Open the Backup & Replication view.
    2. In the inventory pane, click the Backups node.
    3. Right-click the necessary backup job in the working area and select Remove from configuration.
