The default installation package of Veeam Backup & Replication does not provide features that allow you to protect AWS resources. To be able to add your Veeam Backup for AWS appliances to the backup infrastructure, you must install AWS Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication on the backup server.
Before you install AWS Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication, stop all running backup policies, disable all jobs, and close the Veeam Backup & Replication console.
To install AWS Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication, do the following:
- Log in to the backup server using an account with the local Administrator permissions.
- In a web browser, navigate to the Veeam Backup & Replication: Download page, switch to the Cloud Plug-ins in the Additional Downloads section, and click the Download icon to download AWS Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Open the downloaded AWSPlugin_18.104.22.1686.zip file and launch the AWSPlugin_22.214.171.1246.exe installation file.
- Complete the AWS Plug-In for Veeam Backup & Replication wizard:
- At the License Agreement step, read and accept both the Veeam license agreement and the 3rd party components license agreement. If you reject the agreements, you will not be able to continue installation.
To read the terms of the license agreement for the 3rd party components, click View.
- At the Installation Path step of the wizard, you can specify the installation directory. To do that, click Browse. In the Browse for folder window, select the installation directory for the product or create a new one, and click OK.
- At the Ready to Install step, click Install to begin installation.
