You must update your license upon expiry to be able to use all monitoring and reporting features. There are two methods to update Veeam ONE license:
- Update the license on demand
- Update the license automatically
Updating License on Demand
You can update the license from the Veeam ONE licensing server on demand:
- Launch Veeam ONE Monitor.
- On the toolbar, click Help and select License Information.
The License Information window will open.
- At the bottom of the License Information window, click Update Now.
Veeam ONE will connect to the Veeam licensing server, download the new license from it (if available), install it on the Veeam ONE server, and display a dialog box with the license update result.
- Click OK to acknowledge the result.
Updating License Automatically
You can enable automatic license update:
- Launch Veeam ONE Monitor.
- On the toolbar, click Help.
- From the Help menu, select License Information.
- In the License Information window, select the Update and report on license usage automatically check box.
- Click Save.
When automatic license update is enabled, Veeam ONE server will send a request to the Veeam licensing server every week to check whether a new license key is available.
Seven days prior to the license expiration date, Veeam ONE starts sending license requests daily. Once Veeam ONE detects a new license, it will automatically download and install the new license replacing the old one.
If the server fails to update the license, an auto-update event error will be triggered. Veeam ONE server will retry to update the license key. Retry period lasts for 30 days after the license expiration date or the ending of the grace period. If the retry period is over and the new license has not been installed, automatic update feature will be deactivated.
