Configuration Backup
By default, Veeam Backup & Replication performs configuration backup daily at 10.00 AM, but this backup does not contain configuration data of the Google Cloud Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication appliance. To create the configuration backup for Google Cloud Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication, you must enable encryption. The configuration backup is created by means of Veeam Backup for Google Cloud, then Veeam Backup & Replication downloads it to the repository that is specified in the configuration backup settings.
If the Veeam Backup for Google Cloud appliance is added to the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure, both configuration backup and restore managed by Veeam Backup & Replication. In this case, you can back up and restore the configuration backup from Veeam Backup & Replication only.
If the Veeam Backup for Google Cloud appliance is not added to the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure, configuration backup is managed by Veeam Backup for Google Cloud. For more information on how to perform configuration backup from Veeam Backup for Google Cloud, see the Performing Configuration Backup and Restore section in the Veeam Backup for Google Cloud User Guide.
Configuration Backup Location
Veeam Backup & Replication keeps the configuration backup in a backup repository in the \\VeeamConfigBackup\GCP folder. The folder contains subfolders for every backed-up appliance. The name format of the subfolder is {appliance_name}_{appliance Instance ID}. For example, for the Atlanta appliance the name is Atlanta-XXXXXXXXXXX. The configuration backup for each appliance is located in this folder.
The configuration backup represents a set of XML files that contain information on the configuration database. The set of these XML files form the backup file with the following format: {VB name}_{VB Instance ID}_{creation time in the format: YYYY-MM-DD_HH-mm-SS}.BCGCP. For example, Atlanta-XXXXXXXXXXX_2022-01-10_00-57-58.bcgcp.
