As a part of Backup as a Service for Microsoft 365 usage scenario, tenants can use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 REST API to explore and restore their backups.

Make sure to configure Backup as a Service for Microsoft 365 for service providers and tenants before tenants start using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 REST API. For more information, see the Backup as Service for Microsoft 365 section of the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 User Guide. |
Depending on configuration of a tenant Microsoft 365 organization, clients must authenticate themselves differently to start working with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 REST API. For more information, see the following sections:
- Authorization for Organizations with Modern Authentication and Legacy Protocols or Basic Authentication
- Authorization for Organizations with Modern App-Only Authentication
Consider that authorization for tenants allows them only to perform self-restore procedures. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 REST API methods available for tenants are described in the following sections:
