Before creating VeeamZIP files and performing restore operations, you need to add virtual infrastructure servers to the backup infrastructure. Virtual infrastructure servers are ESX(i) and Hyper-V hosts on which the VMs for which you want to create VeeamZIP files reside. Additionally, you can connect Microsoft Windows and Linux servers that you plan to use as targets for file copy operations.

An ESX Server is essentially a Linux server and a Microsoft Hyper-V Server is essentially a Microsoft Windows server. You can add ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V servers as virtualization servers and as standard file servers, depending on roles that you want to assign to them. |
