Validate EC2 Instance Restore

You can can check if restore settings for the restore operation of an entire EC2 instance to a restore point with the specified ID are valid.

Request

To check if restore settings are valid, send the HTTP POST request to the /vmRestorePoints/{vmRestorePointId}/validateRestoreVm endpoint. {vmRestorePointId} is a system ID assigned to the restore point of an EC2 instance in the Veeam Backup for AWS REST API.

Request Body

To validate restore settings for EC2 instance restore, use the VirtualMachineRestoreOptions schema to send parameters in the request body.

Response Body

If restore settings for the restore operation are valid, Veeam Backup for AWS does not return a response body, in other cases Veeam Backup for AWS returns the severity level and the error message.
