Validate User Name
You can check whether a user name you plan to specify for a new user is unique and meets the Veeam Backup for AWS requirements.
Note |
A name of a Veeam Backup for AWS user can contain only lowercase Latin letters, numeric characters, underscores and dashes. You can use the dollar sign ($) as the last character of the user name. |
Request
To validate a user name, send the HTTP POST request to the /users/validateName endpoint.

To check whether the user name is unique and meets the requirements, send the following parameter in the request body.

Response Body
If the user name is valid, Veeam Backup for AWS does not return a response body, in other cases Veeam Backup for AWS returns the severity level and the error message.
