Managing Subscriptions

To let users manage Veeam Data Cloud Vault subscriptions and storage vaults, Veeam offers a centralized tool, the My Account portal. You must obtain a subscription and create at least one storage vault in this subscription to start using Veeam Data Cloud Vault with Veeam Backup & Replication. You can perform these operations in advance or after you initiate the process of connecting the products as described in Using with Veeam Backup and Replication.

Obtaining Subscription

To obtain a Veeam Data Cloud Vault subscription, do the following:

  1. Log in to the My Account portal.
  2. In the main menu, click Cloud Management > Vault Subscriptions.
  3. If your organization has no Veeam Data Cloud Vault subscriptions, the Vault Subscriptions page will display a message about this along with a link to the Veeam Data Cloud Vault product page on the Veeam website. Click Buy Now and follow the steps on the Veeam website to obtain a subscription.

You can add more subscriptions later, if necessary. To do this, navigate to the Vault Subscription page once again. The page will display a list of subscriptions in your organization. Click Buy More to obtain a new subscription.

Creating Storage Vault

After you obtain a Veeam Data Cloud Vault subscription, you must create a storage vault that will be used as a target location for your data. To create a storage vault for a Veeam Data Cloud Vault subscription, do the following:

  1. Log in to the My Account portal.
  2. In the main menu, click Cloud Management > Vault Subscriptions.
  3. On the Vault Subscriptions page, select the necessary subscription and click Create default location in region.
  4. In the displayed window, click Confirm,

Veeam Data Cloud Vault will create a storage vault in the default datacenter of the region associated with your subscription. For information on datacenter locations, see Veeam Data Cloud Vault Editions Comparison.

Alternatively, you can create a storage vault in a custom location. To do this, on the Vault Subscriptions page, click Configure. You will be prompted to log in to the Veeam Data Cloud Vault customer portal and will be able to manage storage vaults. Viewing Subscription Details

To view details of your Veeam Data Cloud Vault subscription, do the following:

  1. Log in to the My Account portal.
  2. In the main menu, click Cloud Management > Vault Subscriptions.
  3. On the Vault Subscriptions page, locate the necessary subscription. For each subscription, the following information is displayed:

If the subscription is not paid, the My Account portal displays the Active (read-only) status for the subscription. In this situation, you cannot write data to the storage vaults within this subscription. Data restore operations remain available.

After the subscription status changes back to Active, the My Account portal automatically passes this information to Veeam Backup & Replication. This information is updated in Veeam Backup & Replication once every 4 hours. If you want to start using the storage earlier, you must rescan the backup server in the Veeam Backup & Replication console.   • Production Support — ID of the support contract associated with the subscription.
  • Capacity — size of storage included in the subscription.
  • Locations — number of storage vaults created for the subscription.
  1. To view detailed information on storage vaults created for the subscription, click the arrow icon on the right to expand the subscription. For each storage vault, the following information is displayed:
  • Location — region where the storage vault is created.
  • Location name — name of the storage vault. By default, the name of the storage vault is the name of the storage account generated automatically when the storage vault was created. You can change the name on the Veeam Data Cloud Vault customer portal. For more information, see Managing Storage Vaults.
  • Description — description for the storage vault.
  • Assigned backup servers — list of backup servers connected to the storage vault. To view the backup server details or manage the backup server connected to Veeam Data Cloud Vault, click the link with the backup server name.

If no backup servers are connected to the storage vault, click the Manage Backup Servers link. You will proceed to the Backup Servers page where you will be able to manage backup servers registered on the My Account portal for your organization.
