How to Change Web Site Certificate

Veeam Availability Console Web UI component uses TLS to ensure secure data communication between Veeam Availability Console and client applications, such as web browsers or RESTful API clients.

By default, Veeam Availability Console uses a certificate that you specify as part of the installation process. To change the certificate, perform the following steps:

Step 1. Obtain a Certificate and Install It on the Veeam Availability Console Machine

Obtain a TLS certificate and import it to the machine that hosts Veeam Availability Console. You can purchase a certificate from a certification authority (CA) or generate a self-signed certificate using a 3rd-party tool.

Step 2. Bind the Certificate to the Veeam Availability Console and RESTful API Sites

Bind the new certificate to the Veeam Availability Console and RESTful API sites:

1. Log on to the machine that hosts Veeam Availability Console.
2. Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, expand the localhost node and navigate to Sites.
3. Choose the new certificate for the Veeam Availability Console website:

1. In the Connections pane, select Veeam Availability Console Web UI.
2. In the Actions pane on the right, click Bindings.
3. In the Site Bindings window, select the HTTPS binding and click Edit.
4. In the SSL certificate list, select the new certificate.
5. Click OK.

4. Choose the new certificate for the RESTful API website:

1. In the Connections pane, select Veeam Availability Console RESTful API.
2. In the Actions pane on the right, click Bindings.
3. In the Site Bindings window, select the HTTPS binding and click Edit.
4. In the SSL certificate list, select the new certificate.
5. Click OK.

5. Close the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

Step 3. Import the Certificate to Client Machines

If you use a self-signed certificate, import it to the client machines (the machines from which you plan to access Veeam Availability Console).
