At the Account step of the wizard, specify a Google service account, select the region and geographical location of a datacenter where you want to deploy the Veeam Backup for GCP appliance:

    1. From the GCP service account drop-down list, select the service account to connect to Google Cloud Platform where you want to deploy the Veeam Backup for GCP appliance. The service account must have permissions listed in Required Permissions.

If you have not added the service account beforehand, click Manage accounts or Add to add the necessary service account. For more information on adding the service account, see the Google Cloud Platform Service Account section in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide.

You can create a service account using Veeam Backup & Replication. In this case, the service account is created with the Owner IAM role for Google Cloud Platform with a wide scope of permissions and capabilities. If you want to create a service account with the limited list of permissions, you can do it from the Google Cloud Console. For more information on permissions that are required to deploy GCP Plug-in for Veeam Backup & Replication, see Required Permissions.

    1. From the Data center drop-down list, select a GCP region in which the appliance will reside.
    1. From the Availability zone drop-down list, select a location within a GCP region where you want to deploy the Veeam Backup for GCP appliance

For more information, see Regions and zones section in the Google Cloud documentation.
