General Improvements

Veeam Updater on Windows — Windows-based Veeam Backup & Replication deployments, enabling administrators to automatically download and silently install product updates without manually obtaining ISO images or running upgrade wizards. By streamlining the update process and reducing operational overhead, this capability helps organizations keep their backup infrastructure current with less administrative effort and improved consistency across deployments.

Automatic Component Upgrade Distribution — In addition to the existing manual process, a Veeam Backup & Replication upgrade can now automatically update remote backup infrastructure components . By automating the distribution and deployment of component updates across the backup infrastructure, this capability reduces administrative effort, accelerates upgrade rollouts, and helps maintain version consistency throughout the environment. It is particularly beneficial for large-scale deployments with numerous managed servers, proxies, and repositories, where manual upgrade operations can be time-consuming and operationally complex.

Move job-to-job during job operation — “Move backup” operations no longer disable the entire primary source job when run on individual child objects for VMware and Hyper-V workloads, improving flexibility when moving large backups.

Container and tag-based exclusions — Global exclusions configuration now supports container-level and tag-based exclusion rules, enabling policy-driven exclusion management in dynamic virtualized environments.

Multi-string description in Credentials Manager — Credential entries in Credentials Manager now support multi-line descriptions, improving documentation in large credential inventories.

Remote Console performance improvements — Windows-based remote console connection and rendering performance have been improved for large-scale environments.

VeeamZIP user experience enhancements — VeeamZIP now remembers the most recently selected backup repository and pre-selects it as the default target for subsequent VeeamZIP operations, eliminating repetitive repository selection for ad-hoc, on-demand backups.

Empty Job Creation Support — Backup jobs can now be created from preconfigured templates in the Web UI without selecting a workload upfront, allowing administrators to define job settings first and add protected objects later.

Job & Backup ownership edit — Jobs and backups now include a Permissions window for setting object ownership and defining which roles can access them, giving administrators role-based control to delegate ownership and manage access with precision.
