Step 9. Configure Network and Availability Settings

In this article

[This step is available if you have chosen to restore Amazon Aurora DB clusters to a new location or with different settings.]

At the Network step of the wizard, configure network settings such as Amazon VPCs, subnet groups and security groups. For the provisioned and Aurora Serverless v2 DB clusters, you can also configure availability settings.

    Configuring Network Settings

    To configure network settings:

    1. In the RDS cluster list, select the necessary cluster and click Customize.
    2. In the Amazon VPC window, from the Amazon VPC drop-down list, select a VPC where the restored cluster will be launched.

For a VPC to be displayed in the drop-down list, it must be created in advance as described in AWS documentation.

    1. From the Subnet group drop-down list, select a subnet group where the restored cluster will reside. Note that the selected subnet group must include at least two subnets created in two different availability zones of the specified AWS Region.

If the selected VPC does not contain any subnet groups, Veeam Backup & Replication shows an empty list.

For a subnet group to be displayed in the drop-down list, it must be created in advance as described in AWS documentation.

    1. From the Security group drop-down list, select a security group that will be associated with the restored cluster.

For a security group to be displayed in the drop-down list, it must be created in advance as described in AWS documentation.

    1. [For provisioned and Aurora Serverless v2 DB clusters] In the Database port field, specify a port number which can be used to access the cluster. The port range for all engines must be 1150–65535.

[For Aurora Serverless DB clusters] The database port is predefined and you cannot change it.

    1. Click OK.

    Note

You are able to select only those subnet groups and security groups that are created in the selected Amazon VPC.

Step 9. Configure Network and Availability Settings

    Configuring Availability Settings

[These settings are available for provisioned and Aurora Serverless v2 DB clusters.]

    To configure availability settings:

    1. In the RDS cluster list, select the necessary cluster and click Availability.
    2. In the Availability Settings window, from the Public access drop-down list, select one of the following options:
    • Select Disabled if you want the selected cluster to have only private IP addresses — that is, the cluster will be accessible only within the selected VPC.
    • Select Enabled if you want the cluster to have public IP addresses in addition to private IP addresses — that is, the cluster will be accessible from the internet.

    Note

To allow public access to a cluster, the security group of the cluster must allow public access.

    1. From the Availability zone drop-down list, select an availability zone where the primary DB instance will reside.
    2. Click OK.
