When Veeam Backup & Replication performs configuration backup, it backs up the configuration of the backup server and also configurations of all Veeam Backup for Google Cloud appliances added to the backup infrastructure.
During the configuration backup, Veeam Backup & Replication exports data from the configuration database of an appliance and saves it to a backup file in a repository. The configuration database contains the following information: the existing backup policies, protected VM and Cloud SQL instances, deployed worker instances, connected Google Cloud projects, logged session records and so on.
