Configuring Recovery Locations

If you want to change settings specified while adding a recovery location, the VAO UI allows you to customize the location.

  1. Log in to the VAO UI as a VAO Administrator. For more information, see Accessing VAO UI.
  2. Switch to the Administration tab.
  3. Navigate to Recovery Locations.
  4. Select the location and click Edit.
  5. Complete the Edit Recovery Location wizard:

[This step applies only to storage recovery locations] To change the target storage system used to recover VMs, follow the instructions provided in section Adding Storage Recovery Locations (step 3).

  • [This step applies only to restore recovery locations] To change the destination datastores and datastore clusters where VM files must be stored, follow the instructions provided in section Adding Restore Recovery Locations (step 4).

[This step applies only to storage recovery locations] To change the datacenter used to recover VMs, follow the instructions provided in section Adding Storage Recovery Locations (step 4).

  • [This step applies only to restore recovery locations] To change the datastore capacity level that must not be breached during the recovery process, follow the instructions provided in section Adding Restore Recovery Locations (step 5).

[This step applies only to storage recovery locations] To change target hosts and clusters to which recovered volumes must be mounted, follow the instructions provided in section Adding Storage Recovery Locations (step 5).
