Editing Template Jobs

When you create a replica or restore plan, you have an option to reprotect VMs included in the plan as soon as the recovery process completes. VAO will automatically create a new backup job to reprotect the replicas and backups as part of the plan execution process.

To accomplish this, configure a template backup job on the Veeam Backup & Replication server that protects the required VMs and is connected to your VAO server. For VAO to discover the backup job as a template, you must create a standard Veeam backup job and mention the [VAO TEMPLATE] text in the backup job description.

Creating Backup Job

After you create a template backup job on the Veeam Backup & Replication server, VAO will collect this data and display it in the VAO UI. Note that the data synchronization process between VAO and the Veeam Backup & Replication server may take several minutes to complete.

Note

The VAO template job can be configured per-VM group in a plan. To do that, select the Protect VM Groups option when creating or editing the plan. With this option selected, a new backup job will be created for the VM group. For more information, see Overriding VM Recovery and Protection Settings.

I want to report a typo

There is a misspelling right here:

I want to let the Veeam Documentation Team know about that.
