Configuring Layouts
After a Salesforce object is added to Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension, the product automatically creates 2 default layouts for this object and displays these layouts on the Page Layouts page:
- Default List View — a set of fields that will be shown for all archived records of this object.
To access this layout, navigate to the object list view and click Archived Records. The Archived Records page will open.
- Record Details — a set of fields that will be shown for each specific archived record in the Record Preview window.
To access this layout for an archived record of an object, navigate to the object list view, click Archived Records and then click the link in the first column. To access this layout for an archived child record of an object, navigate to the object list view, click the name of the parent record that contains the necessary child record, switch to the Archived Records tab and then click the link in the first column. The Record Preview window will open.
For more information on the Archived Records page, see Viewing Archived Data. For more information on page layouts, see Salesforce documentation.
Tip |
You cannot remove the default layouts; however, you can modify fields included in them — to do that, click Edit. Keep in mind that each layout must include at least one field of the Name or ID type. |
If the added object is a parent in a parent-child relationship with other objects, you can also manually create a number of custom Related List View layouts for each of the child objects to specify fields that will be shown for all archived child records of this parent object:
- Switch to the Page Layouts tab.
- Select the necessary child object and click Add List View Layout.
- In the Create Related List View window, choose the parent object and a lookup relationship field that will be used to link these objects.
- Add fields that you want to be displayed in this layout. Note that you must always include at least one field of the Name or ID type in the layout.
- Click Save.
To access the created Related List View layout, navigate to the parent object list view, click the name of the parent record that contains the necessary child record and switch to the Archived Records tab.
