Configuring Layouts

For each added object, Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension automatically creates 2 default layouts on the Page Layouts page:

  • Default List View — a default set of fields for all archived records of a Salesforce object that are displayed on the Archived Records tab of the object.
  • Record Details — a set of fields for a specific archived record of a Salesforce object that are displayed in the record preview window.

Tip

You cannot remove these layouts, however, you can modify fields included in them. To do that, click the Edit icon in the necessary layout row and configure fields that will be displayed. Keep in mind that you must always include a name or ID field in the layout.

Additionally, you can also add Related List View layouts to customize fields that will be displayed for all archived records related to one parent object. To create a Related List View layout, do the following:

  1. Switch to the Page Layouts tab.
  2. Click Add List View Layout.
  3. Choose a parent object to which archived records belong and a field that will be used to associate all child records with this parent object.
  4. Add fields that you want to be displayed for the layout. Note that you must always include a name or ID field in the layout.
  5. Click Save.

Important

  • Configuring multiple layouts for different user profiles is not supported. This means that one layout is used for all Salesforce users.
  • For users to be able to view fields included in the layout, those users must be assigned permissions required to read these fields in Salesforce. For more information on how to configure field permissions, see Salesforce documentation.
