Restoring Child Records

Important

Before you start restoring an archived child record of an object, check the following prerequisites for this record to be displayed on the Archived Records page:

  • A child object that contains these archived records must be added to the Page Layouts page as described in section Adding Objects.
  • A Related List View layout linked to the record parent object must be added for this child object as described in section Configuring Layouts.
  • The Archived Records tab must be added to the layout of the parent object as described in Salesforce documentation.

You can also restore archived records related to a specific parent object only. Consider the following example. You want to restore the Opportunities records of the Account object. To do that:

  1. Navigate to the root object (the Account object from our example) whose archived child records you want to restore.
  2. On the object page, switch to the Archived Records tab to view all archived child records for the object.
  3. In the necessary record section (the Opportunities section from our example), do one of the following:
  • If you plan to restore one child record, click the necessary record and click Restore in the Record window.
  • If you plan to restore multiple records, click View all, select the necessary records and click Restore.

As soon as the restore operation completes, Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension will display all the restored records in the Recently Restored section.
