Planning and Preparation
Before you start installing Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension, check the following limitations and considerations:
- The Lightning Experience interface and Chatter settings must be enabled in Salesforce.
- Only the Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer and Professional Salesforce editions are supported. For the Professional edition, API access must be enabled.
- Salesforce organizations whose archived records you want to restore must have backups created by Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce. Otherwise, you will not be able to view and restore archived records of protected organizations.
- Archived files can be previewed and downloaded if their size does not exceed 2 MB. However, the preview functionality is supported only for images and files in the PDF and TXT formats.
- Archived records cannot be used to generate reports in Salesforce.
Permissions
The accounts used to install and administer Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension must have the following permissions:

Setup Account | The account used to install Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension must be an Administrator in Salesforce. |
Configuration Account | The account used to configure Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension must have the VBSF Package Administrator permission set in Salesforce. |
Enroll Account | The account used to register Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension must have the Salesforce:Administrator or Salesforce:BackupOperator permissions in Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce. |
