Restoring Archived Records

To restore a record:

  1. Navigate to the object whose archived records you want to restore.
  2. In the object list view, click Archived Records.
  3. Do one of the following:
  • If you plan to restore one record, click the necessary record and then click Restore in the Record window.
  • If you plan to restore multiple records, select the necessary records and click Restore.

As soon as the restore operation completes, Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension will display the restored record in the Recently Restored section. To view detailed information on a specific record, click the record link.

Important

  • By default, Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension only restores the selected records and does not restore their related child records and files. If you want Veeam Data Cloud Salesforce Extension to restore child records 2 levels deep down the hierarchy automatically together with the parent record, the Administrator must enable restore of child records as described in section Configuring Restore Settings. However, if you want to restore record files, you must restore them manually.
  • When restoring a record that was deleted from the Salesforce Recycle Bin, a new record with a new ID is created in Salesforce. In this case, the related archived child records will not be displayed on the Archived Records page.

Consider the following example. You want to restore the Case_1 record with archived Email Message child records. However, as the Case_1 record has been deleted from Salesforce, after the restore operation completes, the record will be assigned a new ID (for example, Case_2). In this case, you will not be able to view the archived Email Message records on the Archived Records tab of the Case_2 record.
